Cinnamon roll crescents

What you need:

2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls 1 stick butter, softened ½ cup white or brown sugar 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Glaze: ½ cup powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 tablespoons milk

Directions:

Heat oven to 350°F. In small bowl, combine butter, sugar and cinnamon; beat until smooth. Take dough out of roll and lay triangles on cookie sheet. The original recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of cinnamon mixture on each triangle but we used less.

Roll up each, starting at the widest side, as you would normally do for crescent rolls.

Place each cinnamon filled crescent roll onto a baking sheet. Bake at 350°F. for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

In small bowl, blend all glaze ingredients, adding enough milk for desired drizzling consistency. Drizzle over warm rolls.

Perfect desert! *Mine flattened a little and oozed out some but still were amazing!*

Cheesy Sausage and tater casserole

Must haves:

3 cups idaho potatoes, peeled, boiled and cut into cubes when cool, approx. 1 lb

4 tablespoons butter

4 tablespoons flour

2 cups milk

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/2 lb Velveeta cheese, diced

1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 lb skinless smoked sausage (Eckrich is my favorite brand)

1/8 teaspoon paprika

Let's Get Started:

Cut skinless smoked sausage in half, lengthwise, and then chop into 1/2 inch "half moon" cuts. Cook in a frying pan for about 15 minutes, turning frequently to SLIGHTLY brown.

Meanwhile, put cooked & diced potatoes in 2 quart casserole. Add cooked meat and give it a gentle toss.

Mix all remaining ingredients (except for shredded cheddar cheese & the paprika) in a saucepan over medium heat until warm, melted and smooth. (Use a whisk and stir constantly.).

Pour white/cheese sauce over potatoes and meat. Sprinkle shredded sharp cheddar cheese on top, and then sprinkle paprika evenly over the top.

Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 35-45 minutes (watch, until golden brown on top).

Soft and scrumptious sugar cookies

Soft and Thick Sugar Cookies Recipe adapted from Noshings

Cookies:
1 18 oz box white cake mix with pudding in the mix
2/3 cup flour
2 large eggs
1/3 cup canola oil
2 T sour cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, stir together cake mix and flour. Add eggs, oil and sour cream and mix on medium speed until incorporated. Batter will be fairly stiff. Use a cookie scoop or roll into approximately one inch balls and bake on a baking sheet lined with a Silpat or parchment paper. This will help keep the bottoms of the cookies from browning. Use the heel of your hand or a glass dusted with sugar to gently flatten cookies to about a half inch thick. You don't want the bottoms to be browned or you've overbaked these. Bake approximately ten minutes until just set. Let cool about one minute on the pan and then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Frosting:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 T heavy cream
1 T vanilla extract
3-4 cups powdered sugar
1 T meringue powder
Food coloring or sprinkles as desired

Beat butter on medium speed for about two minutes until smooth. Add cream and vanilla and beat about one more minute to incorporate. Add sugar, one cup at a time mixing on low speed until incorporated until you reach the desired consistency. Add meringue powder (this will help your frosting crust so that you can stack the cookies without smearing your frosting all over the place, I use a sheet of wax or parchment paper in between layers). You want the frosting to be fairly stiff so that it doesnt run off your cookies. Frost cooled cookies and decorate as desired.

Wahh-la! Taking these to little leifs playdate :) :) quick and easy fix!

English version of Amish bread :)

I really liked this reciepe because it was everything I already had in my kitchen and I was able to get it ready and in the oven before my little man woke up! Success!!

Needed:

1/3 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup white sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan. In large bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and 1 cup sugar. Add egg, milk, and oil to flour mixture.

Stir until just moistened. Pour half of the batter into pan.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and 1/3 cup sugar (you can mix together cinnamon and sugar before hand) [DON'T be stingy here]

Cover with remaining batter.

Top with more cinnamon/sugar. Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean.

Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

The reciepe I have says to cover with foil and let sit over night, unfortunately that didn't happen in my household.. tasted great! Reminded me alot of the Amish friendship bread, best part you don't have to pass it on!

Wahh-laa!

Baked spaghetti extreme

[What you need]

8 ounces uncooked spaghetti
1 pound ground beef
1 large can spaghetti sauce
1 tablespoon butter
½ cup chopped green pepper (my husband hats green pepper so sadly i left it out)
⅓ cup chopped onions
8 ounces cream cheese
2 tablespoons milk Fresh grated Parmesan cheese
French-fried onions (small can)

And the [magic]

1. Cook spaghetti according to directions on the package. Cook to al dente, drain and set aside.
2. Brown ground beef. Drain excess grease.
Add spaghetti sauce to skillet and heat.
3. Combine onions, peppers and butter in small glass bowl. Cover and microwave 4 minutes on HIGH until soft.
4. Add cream cheese and milk to vegetables and stir well. (If cream cheese is not soft, nuke it for 20-30 seconds to make it easy to spread.)
5. Using a 12 x 8-inch baking dish (or something close)

assemble in the following order: thin layer of spaghetti sauce, cooked spaghetti, cream cheese/vegetable mixture, remaining spaghetti sauce, parmesan cheese (amount subject to your own taste)

6. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Top with french-fried onions(my fav, again the husbands not a huge fan so next time I will do 1/2 with and 1/2 without) and continue baking 5 more minutes.

*This is a perfect meal to prepare and freeze, leave off the french fried onions

Kissing my fingers, wah-laa!
